Last week I was pleased to presented the new work group of iNOVA Media Lab: S M A R T – Social Media Research Techniques. I´m pleased to lead this project that aims to conduct exploratory studies on connecting practices by using digital methods and designing social media research techniques. The main focus of S M A R T is on social platforms and practical studies; the fields of Journalism, Pop Culture and Digital Activism will guide the exploratory studies in our first year of production (2016/2017). The first open activity will embrace the debate of data journalism in social media platforms (especially Instagram, Facebook and Twitter); a workshop (in the shape of data sprint) that will be held in January 2017 at iNOVA Media Lab – Universidade Nova de Lisboa/Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, Lisbon.
